Integrating villains into your village in Disney Dreamlight Valley is a unique experience, and helping Ursula settle down is no exception. Her initial friendship quest, titled Lair Sweet Lair, tasks players with establishing a comfortable home for the Sea Witch and creating essential items for her schemes. Completing this objective grants useful items while unlocking further storyline interactions with one of the valley's most iconic characters.
Starting the Quest and Constructing Ursula's Home
To unlock Lair Sweet Lair, players must first complete Merlin's quest titled With Great Power to free Ursula from her prison in the Cursed Cave. Once released, locate Ursula in any body of water and speak with her to initiate her request for a proper dwelling. Players must place her home, the Sea Witch's Lair, in the water off Dazzle Beach using the inventory furniture tab.
After placing the building, interact with the Scrooge McDuck construction sign to complete the build. Financing the construction requires 10,000 Star Coins. Once the lair is built, talk to Ursula again to evaluate her reaction and receive your next instructions.
Gathering Paper from Village Houses
Ursula requires paper to start making contracts again, directing you to search around the neighborhood. You must visit three specific homes across the valley: Goofy's house, Mickey's house, and Merlin's library. Inside each residence, look closely at the tables to spot and pick up the loose paper sheets.
Collect all three pieces of paper and return to Ursula to progress her plan. She will then ask you to prepare a special crafting set so she can write binding magical documents.
Crafting the Magical Scroll and Ink Kit
To craft the required Magical Scroll and Ink Kit, players must gather several specific materials. You will need 6 Dream Shards, 1 Empty Vial, and 2 Purple Pigments. Dream Shards are retrieved by clearing Night Thorns or digging up glowing dirt spots across the village.
Crafting the Empty Vial requires 3 Glass, which is created using Sand and Coal Ore found along Dazzle Beach and mining spots. For the 2 Purple Pigments, gather 8 Purple Falling Penstemons from the Plaza and 8 Purple Rising Penstemons from the Peaceful Meadow. Once gathered, combine all items at a crafting station under the Functional Items tab.
Quest Completion and Rewards
Bring the finished Magical Scroll and Ink Kit directly to Ursula to finish the quest. After inspecting your work, she will express her satisfaction and hand over your compensation.
Completing Lair Sweet Lair rewards players with 180 XP points, a Bream, and a Shrimp. Finishing this quest also strengthens your friendship bond with Ursula, unlocking her next friendship storyline.
